Our Caregivers

We interview and thoroughly screen every care professional before they can become a Caring Companions employee. Only the best meet our standards.

Caring Companions not only verifies skills, training, and references, we also look for people who are caring and bring joy to their work every day.

Who comes to my home to provide care?

Great question—undoubtedly the most important question to ask before setting up home care for yourself or a loved one.

Certified Nursing Assistant

A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is trained to assist with the Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and personal care. To become a CNA, a caregiver must complete an accredited or approved training course then pass the licensing exam in their state. CNAs often work in hospitals or other medical facilities as well as in private homes. When working in a home care setting, CNAs are limited to performing tasks that could be performed by a person without a certification.

Home Health Aide

A Home Health Aide (HHA), also trained to help with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and personal care, generally has more training adapted to the home environment than a CNA. HHA requirements can vary by state. When working in a home care setting, HHAs are limited to performing tasks that could be performed by a person without a certification.

Experienced Care Professional

In many cases, excellent caregivers have paid professional experience without a certification or specific degree. Often a professional caregiver gets into the field by caring for a family member or other loved one, learns they have a passion for caregiving, and develops skills and knowledge through on-the-job experience.

How it works at Caring Companions

Caring Companions Care Professionals are a diverse team of outstanding caregivers, reflecting a wide range of cultural backgrounds, ages, and life experiences. The one thing all of our personal assistants/caregivers have in common—they genuinely love caring for others. We make sure of it. That unique passion and commitment show in the work they do every day.

Who comes to your home when you join Caring Companions?

All of our caregivers are Caring Companions Qualified Care Professionals with a background and education or professional experience in at least one of these areas:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Home Health Aide
  • Experienced Care Professional

Caring Companions matches your needs with the best Caregiver to meet your needs. We always send a caregiver with the right training and experience—a caregiver we would trust to help our own parents. Caregivers with a CNA or HHA certification or training are limited to personal assistance tasks that could be performed by a non-certified person when working with Caring Companions.

When you set up care at Caring Companions.

We guarantee the person who arrives at your home is qualified to provide you or your loved one with the highest level of care, personalized to meet your needs. Many of our Caregivers are licensed Certified Nursing Assistants, some are certified Home Health Aides, some have other health-related credentials or certifications. We also select many care professionals who may not be accredited but have something equally valuable—experience.

Experienced Care Professionals.

Some people learn better by doing a job than by studying in a classroom. We value that. Others may have completed their classroom training then started working before getting a license or certification—and just kept on working. We value that too. Regardless of training, certification, or experience level, every Caring Companions Caregiver has been thoroughly background checked, interviewed and screened in-person as well as vetted to verify their references, professional skills, and knowledge.

Trained for specialized care.

Once selected, our Caregivers receive additional training in the best practices of care to support people with specific illnesses, including Cancer, Alzheimer’s and dementia, Parkinson’s, COPD, and other conditions related to aging.

Our Difference: The Best Caregivers

  • Skilled professionals who truly care.
  • Thoroughly screened and vetted.
  • Experience matched to your needs.

Why Hire An In-Home Care Agency Instead of Hiring Your Own Caregiver?

While there are individual caregivers in the Springfield area, hiring an agency like Caring Companions In-Home Senior Care has many key benefits:

  • We take on the liability – You don’t have to worry about bonding, insurance, workers’ compensation insurance, payroll, or background checks. Our agency handles all of the administration, financial, and legal requirements for you.

  • We screen and hire – Our comprehensive screening and stringent hiring practices ensure we employ the best in-home caregivers so you know you can trust the professionals caring for you or your loved one.

  • We do it all – Having a diverse team of caregivers means we’re able to provide a broad range of in-home care—from basic help with transportation to the more involved care needed for people living with Alzheimer’s disease. Whatever your needs may be, save yourself the time and hassle of trying to find a caregiver that is just right for your situation
